Observing the heat wave in Pakistan, the Punjab Education Minister has publicly announced the early summer vacation in all schools. The prevailing heat wave has compelled the higher authorities to close the private and public schools in Punjab from May 25 to May 31. Due to the extreme heat wave, the Punjab government had earlier declared summer vacations from June 1 to August 14. 

However, Pakistan’s educational institutions have declared summer holidays before time in response to the increasing heat and the likelihood of heat waves in the upcoming months. All the parents supported this decision as it was challenging for the children to manage. According to the studies, 96% of parents agreed to this government’s sudden disclosure of schools to keep students safe from heat waves.

Rana Sikandar Hayat discussed the importance of prioritizing the health of students and the safety from the current heatwave. He also mentioned that 96% of parents want summer vacation starting this week. He mentioned in his X post:

“The wellbeing of our students is our top priority. Given the extreme temperatures, it is crucial to take preventive measures to ensure their safety.” 

All those schools conducting exams are exceptions to keep institutes open if they follow all the necessary precautions.

Punjab Summer Vacation 2024 

 Due to rising temperatures, the Punjab government earlier announced the province’s summer break for schools on Friday. The announcement states that all public and private schools will have summer breaks from June 1, 2024, until August 14, 2024. Now, the provincial government has declared early vacations in response to forecasts of heatwaves in the region from May 25, 2024. 

Balochistan Summer Vacations 2024 

 In spite of the intense heat, the administration of Balochistan has declared summer vacations for all schools in the province. In regions experiencing heat waves, the school government has announced summer vacations from May 15 to July 31. 

On August 1, 2024, educational activities in these places will start up again. In the meantime, cooler regions will observe a 10-day holiday from July 22 to July 31. 

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Summer Holidays 2024 

Although the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has not yet made an official announcement regarding summer break, all primary schools are expected to close from June 1 to August 31. Simply Middle, High, and higher secondary schools will be closed from June 15 to August 31 for the summer vacation. The formal announcement will be made next week. 

Sindh Summer Holidays 2024 

The Sindh Education Department has formally announced the summer vacation. According to the education department, there will be two months of summer vacation throughout the province. Summer vacations in educational institutions in Sindh will be from June 1 to July 31.
