The Higher Education Commission has announced the winter vacation of 2023 for all the colleges in Punjab. Before that, Punjab CM Mohsin Naqvi posted about the official holidays for winter in schools. Mohsin Naqvi stated:

“We held a meeting with experts and govt officials today addressing the SMOG challenge in Punjab. With an improved Air Quality Index (AQI), no restrictions are planned for the upcoming weekend. Additionally, winter vacations for children will commence from December 18, 2023, to January 1, 2024,” 

 Now according to HEC, all the public and private colleges will remain close from December 18 2023, to January 1 2024. They will open on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, to continue the academic journey. 

Also, the official notification states that this winter vacation applies to colleges in Punjab only. All the universities and BS programs can continue their studies per their schedule and the respective board notification. University examinations will not be affected during these winter vacations announced for the colleges.
