This measure is taken to safeguard students and staff and has been conveyed to all educational establishments in the district. The authorities have taken precautionary steps to avert further mishaps and protect the community.
However, schools in Karachi will continue working as usual on Thursday, August 29, after the announcement of school closures in the city’s Central District was withdrawn. The Karachi Commissioner Syed Hasan Naqvi has made this decision in light of revised advisories from the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) and the Pakistan Meteorological Department.
The Central District’s Deputy Commissioner had declared a universal school holiday due to the predicted heavy rain. But, after reviewing the updated advisory, the announcement was rescinded, and schools will continue as per normal routine. Parents and students are encouraged to verify class schedules with their schools. The decision to revoke the shutdown was taken to reduce interference with educational proceedings, and schools are anticipated to operate as usual on Thursday.
