August 29, 2024The Government of Sindh has reduced the minimum score needed for first-year intermediate enrolment in government colleges. The Director General of Colleges, Dr. Naveed, declared that the minimum score will be lowered by 20 to 50 points across various colleges.
In a conversation with a private news channel, he stated that the updated admission list will be released by August 23. He further mentioned that several colleges have increased their admission quotas and that six colleges have established complaint centers to manage the increased complaints.
He specified that these centers are located at DJ Science College, Government College for Boys Nazimabad, Government Degree Boys College Gulistan-e-Johar, Government Girls College Liaquatabad, Sir Syed College, and Khurshid Girls College.
Dr. Naveed disclosed that a total of 169,890 students submitted applications for admission in Pre-Engineering, Pre-Medical, Commerce, Humanities, Home Economics, and Computer Science groups via the portal, with 167,309 students being successfully enrolled. He also mentioned that from the 114,000 students who sought college admissions, more than 98,000 were given admission.
