September 16, 2024The British Council is now accepting applications for the Scotland Pakistan Scholarship for Young Women and Girls. This scholarship provides funding for Pakistani women to pursue Bachelor’s and Master’s/MPhil degrees at any HEC-accredited university in Pakistan.
Sponsored by the Scottish Government, these scholarships aim to make higher education more attainable for women, helping them to realize their potential and aspirations. The British Council manages the program in Pakistan, coordinating with chosen scholars and universities either directly or via designated university contacts. The Deputy Director of British Council Pakistan, Maarya Rehman, stated:
The Scottish Scholarship Scheme plays a crucial role in our mission to boost the educational goals of young females in Pakistan. We assist them in acquiring the necessary skills, self-assurance, and networks to catalyze their personal growth and contribute to a more prosperous Pakistan.
The scholarship covers a two-year master’s/MPhil or a four-year bachelor’s degree at a Pakistani university recognized by HEC in the following disciplines only:
- Education
- Sustainable Energy
- Food Security and Agriculture
- Health Sciences
- STEM (Only for Masters)
These scholarships are exclusively available to female candidates. Furthermore, applicants must:
- Be Pakistani citizens currently living in Pakistan.
- Be enrolled in a two-year master’s or four-year bachelor’s degree in the disciplines above.
- Possess a confirmed acceptance letter from a university in Pakistan recognized by HEC.
- We strongly encourage applications from young females who are disabled, belong to minority groups or belong to rural regions.
