July 13, 2024The Punjab Higher Education Department has introduced the new Ex-Pakistan leave policy for government employees and teachers. This revised ex-Pakistan leave policy incorporates several modifications, including collecting a specific amount as a surety bond from the leave ex-Pakistan applicants. These changes have been implemented for the government teachers and employees of Punjab through an official announcement by the Higher Education Department. The department has also mentioned that they have sought information on all existing ex-Pakistan leave cases. After examining these current ex-Pakistan leave cases, they will determine if this new policy will be enforced on them. More details about this updated Ex-Pakistan leave policy can be found further down this page.
Surety Bond Requirement For Study Leave
Under the newly implemented ex-Pakistan leave policy, all Punjab government teachers and employees who apply for ‘Leave ex-Pakistan’ must provide a surety bond. The surety bond is set at Rs. 2.5 million, particularly for those applying for study leave. This step ensures that teachers and employees meet their academic responsibilities during breaks.
Penalties for Incomplete Degrees
The policy further stipulates that if a teacher or employee does not complete their degree after availing ex-Pakistan study leave, they will have to refund the salary they received during that time. This provision encourages leave recipients to finish their studies and resume their duties promptly.
Understanding Ex-Pakistan Leave
Ex-Pakistan leave is a unique type of leave granted exclusively to government teachers and employees who want to continue their education or undertake a brief course. This leave, which can be taken on full pay, may be awarded to a civil servant who applies for it. Also, to those who travel abroad during their leave, take leave while stationed overseas, or are otherwise on duty abroad, and specifically request this ex-Pakistan study leave. These are paid holidays for the employees, which will compensate for the actual period spent overseas, which is a maximum of 120 days at a time.
The individual will receive a certain sum on a monthly basis during this leave. No matter which country candidates choose for their vacation, their leave pay will be issued in Pakistani rupees.
Hiring of New Educators in Punjab
In a similar development, the Punjab provincial government has declared its intention to hire thousands of new educators in the upcoming weeks. This project will be supervised by the Provincial Education Minister, Sikandar Hayat, under the directives of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. The hiring will concentrate on Subject Specialist Teachers, implying that the majority of the new recruits will be teachers with expertise in their respective fields. The Public Service Commission will handle this recruitment process. This initiative aims to improve the education standard by incorporating teachers with specialized knowledge and pedagogical skills.
