The Punjab Government has announced a new holiday policy and school timings as schools are going to be opened soon. This updated timings and two-week holiday policy is for the whole Punjab Province schools. The Government has declared holidays on both Saturdays and Sundays from August 15, 2024. The Department of School Education Punjab announced this news. 

This new rule is to help the teachers to have a better schedule and less workload. According to the notification, the schools having only the morning shift will have classes from Monday To Thursday following timings of 8:00 AM to 1:30 PM. After resuming studies in schools from August 15, all Punjab Schools will observe two days of holidays on weekends. Schools will remain closed on Saturdays and Sundays.

New School Timings for Students

Here are the new school timings for students of morning and afternoon shifts.

Single Shift Schools

Monday to Thursday Timings: 8:00 AM to 1:30 PM

Friday: 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Double Shift/Afternoon Schools

Monday to Thursday:

Morning Shift: 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM

Afternoon Shift: 1:00 PM to 5:30 PM

Friday:

Morning Shift: 8:00 AM to 12:00 Noon

Afternoon Shift: 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM

Revised Working Hours for Teachers

Single Shift Schools

Monday to Thursday Timing: 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM

Friday: 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM

Double Shift/Afternoon Schools

Monday to Thursday:

Morning Shift: 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM

Afternoon Shift: 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM

Friday:

Morning Shift: 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM

Afternoon Shift: 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM
