We are here to share an important update with all of the Federal Board’s international students! The Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education has formally declared that their Intermediate (HSSC) Second Annual Exams will be rescheduled for 2024. Only a few inter 2nd annual exams have been rescheduled; the remaining supply exams will proceed according to the FBISE Inter date sheet 2024 (2nd annual) timetable. Updated FBISE Inter Exam Dates for 2024 

As previously mentioned, the Federal Board is only delaying a few intermediate examinations, and FBISE has already disclosed the new exam date for those as well. The FBISE HSSC supply examinations were initially set for October 16, 2024; however, due to the public holidays observed for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, they have been rescheduled for November 16, 2024. Yes, these exams have been rescheduled for one month. The new date for their second year supplementary exam is November 16, 2024. The previous timetable, which is provided in the inter FBISE date sheet 2024 (2nd annual), will be followed for all other exams. The following are the names of the inter supply exams that have been rescheduled:

1. Urdu Elective-I (063)
2. Health & Physical Education-ll (042)
3. Computer Applications for Home Eco. (603)
4. Business Mathematics-I (095)

The Reason Behind The Postponement

Owing to the SCO Summit, the federal government has declared October 14–16, 2024, as a public holiday in Rawalpindi District and Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT). Due to the impact of these holidays on students and exam personnel, the exam must be postponed to minimize disruptions. The second year supplemental test date for 2024 has been rescheduled to prevent excessive hardship for students from Islamabad and Rawalpindi in taking their exams during the holidays. 

Schedule Unchanged For Remaining Papers 

FBISE has clarified that all subsequent HSSC supply examinations would proceed according to the schedule first disclosed in the HSSC FBISE date sheet 2024. It is recommended that students arrive on time for any exam days that do not occur within the impacted vacation period. Students can obtain their updated roll number slips from their institutions and the FBISE website, as well as the new Federal Board Inter Date Sheet 2024 (Supplement). Students must show their updated roll number slips to enter the exam rooms. 

SCO Summit Holidays’ Effects 

Significant alterations to Islamabad and Rawalpindi’s traffic patterns, security protocols, and other logistical issues are anticipated during the public holidays coinciding with the SCO Summit. Therefore, in order to prevent inconvenience for both exam personnel and students, it was necessary to postpone the FBISE Inter supply exams. Additionally, by extending the deadline, students will have more time to get ready for the postponed paper and still follow the revised timetable. It is recommended that all affected students revise their study schedules appropriately and follow up with their schools for any additional guidance. 

The FBISE’s Role 

Due to the SCO Summit holidays, the FBISE inter examinations had to be postponed. This demonstrates how flexible the Federal Board is in making sure that students in Islamabad and Rawalpindi have a seamless exam experience. According to the previous timetable, the remaining HSSC supply exams 2024 will take place as usual. Students should download their updated Federal Board Inter date sheet (supplementary). It is recommended that students and institutions keep track of any updates from the FBISE and plan appropriately for the exam that will be rescheduled for November 16th, one month later.
